Old Age

No, this is not about myself! Actually it's about my aunt's cat Leroy. Normally I am not a cat person, but Leroy is an exception! When he was younger, he looked like a mini panther. All black, all muscle and definitely a hunter. Leroy has enjoyed a long life and is currently 18 (or 19 - my aunt isn't sure). He now enjoys about 18 hours of sleep a day, getting up only to eat, use the litter box, and change sleep positions. Whether Leroy is 18 or 19, that is pretty old for a cat!! He has some health issues but is relatively healthy considering his age. What I find odd is that my aunt is still rationing his daily treats. He loves his treats (who doesn't?) and often tries to "talk" her into giving him treats without eating his regular food. She insists that he eats his regular food before getting any treats. ......are you kidding me? Leroy is probably the equivalent of a ninety year old at least - does it really matter if he gets extra treats?? I would imagine that if I reach that age, I am NOT going to be rationing my chocolate intake!! If I wanted to have chocolate cake for breakfast, brownies for lunch and then chocolate ice cream for dinner, I would!! It might kill me but I'd die happy!!

Random Funny

I should probably preface this blog by telling you that I am easily amused. I find that it makes everyday life much more bearable and less monotonous. It also tends to help me deal with people better, which comes in handy at work!!

Anyway, going about normal everyday life I had to change the toilet paper roll this morning. Did you know that there are toilet paper rolls that are TOO BIG to fit in a standard toilet paper roll holder??? I didn't know this!! I managed to squeeze the Charmin (YES I did!) into the holder but now I have to wrestle with the damn thing to actually get any toilet paper off the roll!! Go Charmin!! I got my money's worth I guess! LOL

Team USA!

I would not consider myself a sports fan - I don't sit at home and watch football or baseball on TV, but I LOVE the Olympics! The athletes are amazing in what they can accomplish and I love all the support they receive during the competitions from the crowds. I just have to say that I am so proud of our gymnastics team - especially the men coming out of nowhere and achieving the bronze! I am definitely more in tuned with the swimming though....being a former competitive swimmer, it is a love of mine. I just cannot get over the race times these swimmers are achieving!! Incredible! Michael Phelps is definitely standing out and I am looking forward to seeing him in the next couple of races.

I am enjoying the competition we are up against from other countries and for the most part, everyone has displayed good sportsmanship (or sportswomanship which should be a word!) so far. I am really looking forward to the rest of the events and I hope you are also enjoying the amazing display of athleticism! Go team USA!
